- To maintain the original condition of your silver jewelry, polish your pieces regularly using a non-abrasive cleaning cloth.

- Avoid abrasive cleaners, detergents and commercial jewelry cleaners "dips" especially if the pieces have an oxidized finish. Using harsh polishing cleaners will alter the antique look of your jewerly.
- Never use an ultrasonic cleaner, ammonia or any chemical solution to clean opaque gemstones, such as turquoise, malachite, onyx, lapis lazuli and opals. They are a porous stone and may absorb chemicals, which build up inside the stone and cause discoloration. Simply wipe them gently with a moist cloth until clean.
- If your jewelry contains gemstones or pearls, do not immerse in water, as this can loosen some settings. Never use dips or abrasives cleaners on gemstones.

use. This will help to retard the tarnishing process and protect your

beyond repair and dull or even pit the surface of your gemstones.
Cleaning
A silver cloth is the best way to remove tarnish from jewelry. Rub gently
and a lengthwise motion and it will also shine the stones.
Excessive tarnish: A non-abrasive brand name liquid or paste silver polish
to remove heavy tarnish build-up. Make sure you remove any trace of the polish
from gemstones and rinse thoroughly with clean warm water. Make sure that your
jewelry is completely dry it before storing it in an airtight zip lock bag or
container. Never use toothpaste as it is very abrasive. Avoid ammonia-based
dips as they will eventually eat away the finish of the metal and could be
harmful to your stones.
